Clinton Gähwiler
Clinton is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Counseling Psychologist. He approaches his work with the utmost regard for the client’s wellbeing and rights. The HPCSA and the Professional Board for Psychology regulate and inform his work.
Information that is collected
Prior to any consultation (either in-person or online) clients are asked to complete a Client Intake Form. This provides Clinton with information needed for identification and billing purposes, and also allows for you to give consent to the consultation processes, and to the processing your personal data for the above purposes.
Notes are taken during consultations, and are used solely for the delivery of an effective service to the client.
In the case of EFT payments, we do ask that you use your name as a reference. Please note that this will therefore be reflected on our bank statements.
When attending in-person consultations at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA), you will for security reasons be asked to sign in at the main entrance to the SSISA building.
Confidentiality
All data is treated confidentially. Exceptions to this are if called for by law, in the case of collecting outstanding debts, or when at your request the practice communicates with a third party such as your medical aid. By law, all medical practices are required to keep client files for a five year period. We do however keep some files for longer if there is a sense that you may return for further consultation after this period.
